Ownerslog.co.uk is a free portal to connect owners, past or present, to vehicles.
Before ownerslog.co.uk existed, it was rather hard, if not pretty much impossible, to discover the true life story of a vehicle owner-by-owner. Service history and vehicle checks will only tell you so much.
Ownerslog.co.uk is almost exclusively used by three groups of people:
- Fact Finders – Those who want to connect with past owners of their classic car or car of interest. This can be out of curious nostalgia or to discover very specific things they wish to know about the car before they owned it.
- Diligent Buyers – Those who are looking to buy a vehicle, often a classic car, and want to discover any issues previous owners had.
- Nostalgic Interests – Those who no longer own a particular vehicle of interest but, mainly for nostalgic reasons, want to see if it’s still around and, if so, who owns it.
Ownerslog.co.uk allows you to register vehicles on the site and/or contribute history if someone else has added the vehicle before you.
Left navigation explanations:
Vehicles I’ve Added – This does not imply vehicle ownership. This tab simply lists the vehicles you have added to ownerslog.co.uk. If others search for this registration, they will be able to add history (see below), which will appear on their “My History Contributions” tab. Only one person can register a vehicle, but many can add history to it.
My History Contributions – If someone else has already added a vehicle to ownerslog.co.uk, it will appear on their “Vehicles I’ve Added” tab. You can add history to a vehicle via the “My History Contributions” tab, which they, and everyone else, will see. This is the most important part of ownerslog.co.uk, as collectively, you will see owners adding history where you can reach out to them.
Common Questions:
No one else has added history to a vehicle I’ve added. What now?
There is no guarantee that a vehicle you have added will have any other owners on ownerslog.co.uk. If someone else in days, weeks, months or years later adds history, you will be alerted by email. Some joining ownerslog.co.uk will instantly connect with past owners; as their vehicle of interest is already registered, others won’t. As the number of users expands so will the database of vehicles. The database of vehicles on ownerslog.co.uk is entirely populated by users.
What if someone adds a vehicle in “Vehicles I’ve Added,” but I’m the current owner?
When you add history, you will be able to say you’re the current owner. When someone adds a vehicle to ownerslog.co.uk they are just the first person who has added a vehicle – it does not imply ownership.
Someone is posting fake history about my vehicle. What can I do?
Please contact us – we will look at this and if we feel a user is being malicious, we will remove their history or account. Please remember ownerslog.co.uk is a free resource where we depend on the goodwill of its users to make it a useful and enjoyable resource.
Someone has made an error in the history they have posted; what shall I do?
